In order to make sure that we have enough money for holidays and other activities, we came up with a way to budget.

This works for us but might not work for others.

We created pockets on Revolut for different things, such as kids, birthday presents, Christmas, holiday, pet, house renovations, etc. anything that can occasionally cost us money we have a pocket for. We each put small amount such as 5-10 euro from each salary into each pocket. This does accumulate and we are not stuck for money because of surprises

Our main savings go to joint account. We each have things we pay together and others that we divided between us fairly.
