Absolutely. It took me 8 years to get a job that I enjoy.
I was a post-doc in academic research for 8 years and never felt like I would like to do this till I retire.
I had a lucky break in 2019, when a recruiter approached me and asked if I wanted to throw in a CV for a job application in Biopharma. I said, “Sure!”. 2 weeks later I had a job.
5 years on and I am still enjoying it:)
