What do you complain about the most?

“When you complain, you make yourself a victim. Leave the situation, change the situation, or accept it. All else is madness.”

– Eckhart Tolle

After reading today’s prompt, I laughed 🙈😂 I am looking forward reading everyone’s replies.

What do I complain the most about? Well, there are a couple of things. These are quite consistent and as per above quote by Eckhart Tolle, since I am not changing them, nor am I accepting them, then I am mad 😂😁.

First, work. As one of my managers put in one of my reviews, I have a very high work ethic and work hard, but I also expect others to do the same. As a result, this leads to frustration on my end and to get it off my chest I might complain about situation to my husband. I truly do love my job though and won’t change it, unless they make us go back on site full time with no possibility of remote work. Just for context, I work approximately 100 km from home and it takes me 1hr 30 minutes to get there.

Second, (and I am sure, I am not a one on this one) things to do with my kids.

My house is never tidy. I clean one room and move on to the next, one of my kids will go in and mess up the room I cleaned. They do clean the living room, which they use the most during the day and their bedrooms, but it’s never tidy. I relaxed a bit about it now, as I know they are going to be small only for so long, but on stressful days it makes me more stressed.

Their inability to do things without prompt. Example this morning, my eldest has swimming in his school today. For this, he needs to pack his swimming gear and bring it with him. Today was also the day that he realized that he never put last weeks swimming gear into wash 🙈. It took him three trips to towel rack to select an appropriate towel to bring. Then, I had to remind about goggles, hat and change of clothes. Ok we are all packed. Finally it is time to leave. He picks up his school bag and goes to car. No swimming bag in sight…

My kids are doing very well in school and I truly think that they are smarter than us. But that has to do with academic subjects or something they love. Common sense, tidiness and ability to prepare and follow through are the things we are still working on. So yes, this leads to my frustration and complaining to my husband about it.

Lastly, another thing I do complain to my poor husband about is not having enough time to do my crafts. If I could change anything it would be this. I need it for my sanity and creativity. I love creating new things! Last weekend in Belfast I discovered a craft shop and stocked up on supplies! I cannot wait to use them 🙂
