“The end of law is not to abolish or restrain, but to preserve and enlarge freedom”.
John Locke
I wouldn’t change a law but would introduce one.
I would introduce a law that working week and school week are a 4-day week.
I would also make it a law that if a person is able to work from home in their role, they can do remote working.
A lot more companies nowadays are making their employees go back to sites full time and I think there should be flexibility.
We demonstrated that we can work and deliver during Covid. It is like a step back making everyone go back to work on site.

It’s happening here in Portugal too, companies making employees go back to the office. I think it’s a control thing. They want you there so they feel that they can control you. It’s ridiculous. If you’re the type of person to slack while working from home, you were probably slacking when working from the office as well.

My sons work from home successfully. I hope to find a job working from home soon. I used to work remotely before I left the engineering field. I believe that many people can be more productive working from home plus it is less expensive for the worker. Good law!

My current role is mostly computer based. The only aspect that cannot be done as effectively online is 1:1 meetings. I find that they work better in person. For now I am remote except for 1 day a week. However, the company’s CEO is asking all sites to start transitioning back working on site. So it is only a matter of time.
