“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies . . . The man who never reads lives only one.”
George R. R. Martin
Books have always been part of my life. Since the age of six, I remember escaping into imagination world through books.
At the age of nine, during summer break a visit to library was a weekly occurrence. Nine books were selected and read.
I am still like this, currently I have 4 books on my nightstand waiting me to read. Most of the books that I prefer nowadays are easy to read and follow books. The reason for this, I do enough thinking and deducting in my job, and for my relaxation I just want to immerse myself in a story.
One book that I have and want to read, but haven’t had the right headspace to read yet is – “Good to great” by Jim Collins. Why some companies make the leap and others don’t.

For years, this question preyed on the mind of Jim Collins. Are there companies that defy gravity and convert long-term mediocrity or worse into long-term superiority? And if so, what are the universal distinguishing characteristics that cause a company to go from good to great?
As I am currently a Team leader in a big Biopharma company, as well as having my own small business that I had to pause, I want to see if there is anything that I can change in myself to be successful.
What are your favorite books to read?

I worked for one of the companies on the Good to Great list just after the period in which was written about. They were in decline when I worked there but I still reaped some of the benefits of the management style that remained.
